WINTER WORKSHOPS AND PLAYGROUPS

Children learn about the prehistoric world through creative workshops and playgroups. The programme consists of art workshops, films, "dino" workshops, puzzle games, learning about the collections of the Krapina Neanderthal Museum, filling in worksheets, and visiting the Museum permanent exhibition and Hušnjakovo Site.

SMALL GEOLOGY LABORATORY

Visitors to the Krapina Neanderthal Museum, just like real geologists and paleontologists, have the opportunity to study original fossils using the microscope and other devices. Doing research in that small laboratory, participants can also use the library with professional and popular literature and learn about the Museum collections.

MAKING OF KRAPINA EARLY MAN'S CLOTHING

Participants will learn how to sew clothing without modern devices and will make a robe inspired by the prehistoric era of Krapina Early Man.

ANIMALS AT THE TIME OF NEANDERTHALS

Participants will model clay figures of rhinoceros, cave bear, giant deer, wild cattle and other animals from the time of Neanderthals.

CREATING THE GEOLOGIC TIME SCALE

Every workshop participant will make his own geologic timeline on paper by inserting the drawings of prehistoric animals and plants in various layers of Earth’s history where geological eras and periods are already marked. This way, they will get an overview of biological evolution on Earth and learn about the most important species of each geological period.

„EVOLVE AND DON'T GET ANGRY!“

This illustrated game presented on a canvas introduces the participants to the geological eras and periods and the evolution of life on Earth. Throwing the dice, they move through different geological periods, get to the different Ice Ages and disasters, and as they advance or move back, the figurines change, from trilobites to the Neanderthals.

SEARCH FOR DINOSAURS

When it comes to dinosaurs, children's curiosity never ends. Therefore, in this workshop every child will be put in a role of researcher using picture books, illustrated books, as well as puzzles and models with dinosaurs images.

DAYS OF DRAGUTIN GORJANOVIĆ–KRAMBERGER

Varied programme, comprising lectures related to the life and work of Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger, theme workshops and exhibitions in schools, will be realised in cooperation with primary and secondary schools, as well as with geology and paleontology students. The anniversary of the birth of Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger, the champion of Croatian science, will be marked through literature, art, music, dance and other activities.
